Rosemary Trible | Founder
Rosemary Trible, Founder of Fear 2 Freedom, has dedicated her life to inspiring survivors of sexual assault to overcome fear and challenging college students to change the world by serving others.
Rosemary’s passion to help others comes from her own life-changing experience. At 25 years old, she was raped at gunpoint, after hosting a television segment on sexual assault. In her book, Fear to Freedom, she recounts her journey from trauma and fear to forgiveness and freedom by sharing her story with others. She is committed to seeing all survivors of sexual violence find joy and walk the path of healing.
Tricia Russell | Executive Director
Tricia Russell has served as the Executive Director for the past year. Before then, she was a volunteer and board member since 2014. As an alumnae of William & Mary, Tricia has served on many other Boards of Directors including the Peninsula Fine Arts Center, Peninsula Young Life, Riverside Elementary School PTA, Hines Middle School PTA, Warwick High School PTA, and Young Life. She also co-founded the Greater Peninsula of Virginia Impact 100. While not working, she enjoys her time with her husband, 3 sons, and new daughter-in-law.
Muriel Millar | Chief Operating Officer
Muriel Millar is the Chief Operating Officer for Fear 2 Freedom. She joined the organization in February 2015 following more than 20 years of for-profit accounting and management experience with organizations such as Specialty Foods Group, Inc., and Sara Lee Coffee & Tea. Muriel holds a BS in Accounting from Christopher Newport University and currently serves as Treasurer of the Christopher Newport Alumni Society Board and as Vice President of Commitment with the Peninsula Chapter of the Christopher Newport Alumni Society. Muriel has been married to N. Scott Millar for 17 years and they currently reside in Newport News, Virginia and Melville, Long Island, New York.
Hailey Chohany | Creative Director of Programs & Marketing
Hailey started volunteering with F2F back in 2015 and joined the board of directors in 2016. As of 2018, Hailey has worked as a full-time employee at F2F. She grew up in Williamsburg, Virginia, and attended both TNCC and James Madison University before settling in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Hailey is passionate about supporting survivors and changing the culture surrounding sexual assault. She enjoys the beach, art, and spending time with family, friends, and pets.
Rachael Dorsey | Director of Development & Programs
Rachael is an alumna of Christopher Newport University. She came to Hampton Roads from Baltimore, Maryland in 2014. Along with her marketing and management background in the for-profit world, Rachael has been working with nonprofits for about 3 years primarily serving in the development and fundraising sphere. She started with Fear 2 Freedom in 2019 and looks forward to making an impact in her new role.
Maddie Amos | Director of Grants & Programs
Maddie is also an alumna of Christopher Newport University. She has been passionate about service since elementary school. In middle school and high school she worked on and led numerous service trips. This is Maddie’s first position in the nonprofit world, and she is proud to be a part of an organization as important as Fear 2 Freedom. She is newly employed by Fear 2 Freedom but previously had been an intern and volunteer.
Vickie Garton-Gundling | Logistics Coordinator
Vickie joined the F2F team in July 2019. In her role as Logistics Coordinator, she handles event preparation and oversees F2F’s internship and volunteer programs. An alumna of Marywood University (B.A.) and the University of Maryland (M.A.), Vickie brings her professional background as a college teacher, grant writer, and administrative assistant to her work at F2F. She is committed to helping survivors of sexual assault heal and to promoting education that helps combat sexual violence. Outside of work, Vickie enjoys hiking, blogging, and spending time with her husband and son.
